A web site to learn about AND take action on racial inequities regarding EPA Superfund sites.

My role on this 48 hour hackathon included project management, data acquisition & analysis, and GIS visualization. This was a particularly powerful project to be a part of, and our hard work was recognized as we were placed as a Top 3 project out of 50+ participating teams and got to specially present our product to the other participants. One of the coolest parts of this project was creating the email-generator that quickly formats an email to your US State Senator describing the Superfund demographics in your Census County.

Dealing with and joining together large, national-sized datasets was a fresh challenge that warranted detailed data-cleaning. I learned a lot of respect for the data collecting process while working on this project in particular.
